Oceans: Juan Ramón Jiménez

leonid_tishkov

I have a feeling that my boat
has struck, down there in the depths,
against a great thing.
And nothing
happens! Nothing … Silence …Waves…

— Nothing happens? Or has everything happened,
and we are standing now, quietly, in the new life?

  1. Tessa remarks:

Words of water resound, thank you.

    I am reminded.

“I leave a white and turbid wake
pale water, paler cheeks, where’er I sail,
The envious billows sidelong swell to ‘whelm my track–
Let them. But first I pass.”

    —Ahab at Sunset, Moby Dick

    Another wayfaring disciple
    with gratitude
